President Jokowi Inspects Vaccination in Blitar

At the end of his working visit in East Java Province, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected COVID-19 vaccination program for the community held in Center of Tourism and Trade Information (PIPP) on 7 September 2021, in Blitar, East Java Province, on Tuesday (07/09/2021).

“Today, I come to Blitar to inspect vaccination program held in this city. I am glad to hear that 76 percent of the community has been vaccinated, as informed by the Deputy Mayor of Blitar. It means that only a small number of the community have not got vaccinated,” President said.

On the occasion, the Head of State expressed his appreciation to the community of Blitar who were so enthusiastic participating in government vaccination program.

“We are aware that COVID-19 is not going to disappear totally. What we can do is to control the spread of it. Do not let any exponential rise occur due to this Corona Virus,” he said.

President Jokowi, once again, implored the community to remain discipline in implementing health protocols although they have been vaccinated. It is mandatory in order to protect themselves from being infected by COVID-19 virus, especially the Delta variant and Mu variant which have been found recently.

“Therefore, once again, we need to speed up the vaccination program and we have to continue implementing the health protocols, he said.

Some high-ranking government officials were accompanying President during the inspection, namely, Chief of the National Police Pol. General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Governor of East Java Province Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Deputy Mayor of Blitar Santoso, Chief of Regional Indonesian Police of East Java Province Inspector General Pol. Nico Afinta, and also Commander of Regional Military Command V/Brawijaya Mayor General Suharyanto.  (TGH/UN) (AW/LW)
