President Jokowi Installs Doni Monardo as New BNPB Head
On Wednesday (9/1), at the State Palace, Jakarta, President Joko Jokowi Widodo inaugurated Secretary General of the Indonesian Security Council (Wantannas) Lieutenant General Doni Monardo, as Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).
Doni Monardo who replaced former BNPB Head Willem Rampangilei is inaugurated based on Presidential Decision Number 5/P of 2019 on the Appointment of Head of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency which recited by the Deputy Minister of State Secretary for Apparatus Administration, Cecep Sutiawan.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of high ranking government officials, among others Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Syafruddin, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, and Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin.
For the record, Lieutenant General Doni Monardo, who was born in Cimahi, 10 May 1963, is an alumnus of Indonesia Military Academy Class Year 1985. He had served as Commander of Presidential Security Details (Paspampres) (2012-2014), Commander of the Army Special Forces Command (Kopassus) (2014-2015), Chief of Pattimura Military Command (2015-2017), Chief of Siliwangi Military Command (2017-2018), and Secretary General of Wantannas (2018-2019).
