President Jokowi Installs New Air Force Chief of Staff
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Friday (04/05) at the State Palace in Jakarta inaugurated Air Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono as the new Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force.
The inauguration of was conducted based on Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20/TNI of 2024 on the Dismissal and Inauguration of Air Force Chief of Staff.
“I do solemnly swear that I will bear allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia which is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will execute all laws and regulations in the fairest way possible for the service to the state and the nation. That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold professional code of conduct, work to the best of my ability, with a full sense of responsibility and that I will uphold the soldier’s oath,” the President said, dictating the oath of office to Mohamad Tonny Harjono.
Following the inauguration, in accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 26/TNI of 2024, the newly inaugurated Air Force Chief of Staff is to be promoted to become Marshal.
For the record, Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono replaced the outgoing Air Chief Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo. (DND/UN) (AP/EP)
