President Jokowi Installs New Jakarta Deputy Governor

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo installed Ahmad Riza Patria as the new Jakarta Deputy Governor for the remainder of the 2017-2022 term, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/4).

His inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 40/P/2020 on ratification of the appointment of Jakarta Deputy Governor for the remaining term of 2017-2022.

Ahmad Riza expressed his readiness to assist Jakarta Governor Anies Rasyid Baswedan in carrying out the vision, mission, programs, and Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJMD) set by Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD).

“Hopefully, my presence in Jakarta can help to realize programs that have been set and specifically, now, in handling the COVID-19,” the Deputy Governor said.

On the occasion, the Deputy Governor stated to the President that he would obey the Central and Regional Governments regulation in his new duty.

He also added that he would start his work on Thursday and meet with Anies and the Regional Working Unit (SKPD) to be given an introduction to the regional programs.

“I have met the Governor who explained the condition on the spread of the coronavirus,” he said adding that the Provincial Government will implement the regulations and laws on Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB). (TGH/EN)
