President Jokowi Installs New Members of Veterans Legion Council

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo appointed members of the Central Leadership Council and Central Advisory Council of Indonesian Veterans Legion (LVRI) for the remainder of the 2017-2022 term, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (24/6).

The national anthem “Indonesia Raya” was played at the beginning of inauguration ceremony followed by recitation of Presidential Decree Number 76/M of 2019 on the Ratification, Dismissal and Appointment of the Central Leadership Council and Central Advisory Council of Indonesian Veterans Legion (LVRI).

In that event, 25 members of the Central Leadership Council were inaugurated, including:

  1. Gen. (ret) Syaiful Sulun as Chairman;
  2. Gen. (ret) Bantu Hardjijo as Deputy Chairman;
  3. Air Vice-Marshal (ret) FX Soejitno as Secretary General.

Meanwhile, the appointed members of the Central Advisory Council of Indonesian Veterans Legion (LVRI) are, among others:

  1. Lt. (ret) H. Soekarto as Chairman;
  2. Gen. (ret) Badjoeri Widagdo as Secretary;
  3. Air Vice-Marshal (ret) Suparman Natawikarta as member;
  4. Gen. of Marines (ret) Ismu Edi Ismakun as member.

After the inauguration, President Jokowi congratulated the newly-appointed officials.

Also attending the ceremony was Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD. (TGH/EN)
