President Jokowi: Investors Confidence towards Indonesian Govt has Increased

President Joko Jokowi Widodo expressed his gratitude to all Chief Executive Officers (CEO) who took time to attend a business meeting on the weekend in the framework of a working visit to Sydney, Australia (25/2). “I do not know how it is in Australia, but in Indonesia, we sometimes work on the weekends. In fact, not sometimes, but always,” President Jokowi joked.
Furthermore, the President said that Indonesia is currently experiencing the best conditions in investment sector due to the increased public trust to the Government. Some rating agencies, the President further added, such as Fitch, Edelman, and Moody’s revealed that there is a rising confidence of investors to invest in Indonesia. “Two months ago, Moody’s and Fitch released indices that showed investors confidence towards the Indonesian Government rose from stable to positive values,” President Jokowi said while giving a speech at a Business Meeting held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney.
Earlier this month, the President continued, a rating agency Edelman released their annual index that said public confidence towards the Indonesian Government jumped 13 points to 74.
In the Business Meeting, President Jokowi was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong, Chief of Creative Economy Agency Triawan Munaf, Consul General and Consulate General of Indonesia to Australia, and a number of CEOs of Australian companies also attended the business meeting.
