Indonesia’s new capital city is part of the Government’s plan to develop a new work culture and economic base, according to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“If we don’t carry out transformation from now on, we will never be able to become a developed country,” the President said in his remarks at the investor forum entitled “the New Capital City of Nusantara: New History, New Civilization” at The Ballroom at Djakarta Theater Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/18).

The President said that the new Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) is the future of Indonesia that can be realized with the joint efforts from all stakeholders, including investors. To that end, the Indonesian Government opens opportunities for investors to participate in realizing the transformation of Indonesian civilization.

On that occasion, President Jokowi also invited investors to invest in any sector, including financial centers, healthcare centers, education centers, housing areas, and tourism areas.

The President said that the relocation of the capital city to the new Capital City of Nusantara (IKN) is stipulated in Law Number 3 of 2022 on the State Capital. For that reason, the President asked investors not to hesitate to invest in the IKN.

“The legal basis is clear, namely Law Number 3 of 2022. The Law was passed by 93 percent of the House of Representatives (DPR) members. If there’s something you’re not sure about, let me know,” the President remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RI/MMB)
