President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and several Cabinet Ministers enjoyed a trial run of Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) from Hotel Indonesia Station to Lebak Bulus Station in Jakarta, Tuesday (19/3).

“We are pleased that the MRT is welcomed with enthusiasm, we hope that in the future everyone uses the MRT. This is a new habit that we must begin to get used to,” the President said, adding that he also invited those who use private cars or motorbikes to switch their mode of transportation to the MRT.

“After the 230-km line of the Jabodetabek (MRT) is completed, the Jakarta Governor will apply Electronic Road Pricing to force car owners to use this mode of transportation,” President Jokowi explained.
