Despite the shocking result of the victory of Republican Party candidate Donald Trump over the rival candidate Hillary Clinton from Democrat Party at the US presidential election on early November, President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo admitted that he is not affected by that.

“I am not affected by the news. The shock, people say, causes uncertainty. Not for me,” said President Jokowi in his remarks at the opening of the 2016 Annual Meeting of BankIndonesia , held at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Tuesday (22/11).

Admitted by President Jokowi, many people foresee that the President-elect Donald Trump will be protective, the Fed’s fund rate will sky-rocket, sprung up very high. However, the President shared a different view that the President-elect Donald Trump is not like what everybody imagined.

“I guess he has flair on business, a sharp flair on economy. It is highly unlikely that he would recklessly do things like everyone has  imagined,” said the President.

The President, in fact, believes that he will do positive things, both for the United States as well as for the world. “It is highly improbable to do something that can harm all countries; it is unlikely,” the President said confidently.

Therefore, the President encourages the business world to be more realistic, do not be frightened by the occurring issues that have not happened yet.

Previously, when receiving the visit from Golkar Party Chairman Setya Novanto at the State Palace, Tuesday afternoon (22/11), President Jokowi, who was asked by the journalists about the possibility of Donald Trump to withdraw from Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), reminded that it was yet to be launched.

“TPP is not launched yet. I do not want to talk about that matter because it has not even been discussed at the Parliament,” said the President. (UN/BPMI Setpres/ES) (SU/MMB/LW/Naster)
