President Joko Jokowi Widodo on Sunday (10/3) began his working in West Java capital Bandung.
Upon arrival in the city, President Jokowi was welcomed by West Java Deputy Governor Uu Ruzhanul Ulum, Commander of Military Area Command III/Siliwangi Major General Tri Soewandono, and Chief of West Java Regional Police Inspector General Agung Budi Maryoto.
President Jokowi and his entourage were scheduled to visit Margaasih Subdistrict in Bandung regency to inspect the construction site of the Nanjung Water Tunnel, which is part of the Governments solution to the annual flood problem that often hit areas in southern Bandung.
The twin 230-meter tunnels are expected to accelerate the flow of Citarum River and reduce inundation that often occurs during the rainy season in Dayeuh Kolot subdistrict and its surrounding areas.
Accompanying the President during the working visit were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono. (BPMI/EN)
