President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (01/22) kicked off Central Java working visit.

The President and his entourage took off onboard Indonesia-1 Presidential Aircraft at around 06.00 Western Indonesian time from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta.

Upon arrival at Adi Soemarmo Air Force Base in Boyolali regency, the President and his entourage continued to travel to Salatiga city by car.

In Salatiga, President Jokowi visited Klumpit Tingkir Soccer Field to ensure that rice assistance from the Government has been well-received.

“Today is the first day of the Government’s food assistance distribution. Have you all received the 10 kg [of rice]?” he asked to the beneficiaries in attendance.

The President stated that the rice assistance will be given until March this year, but the Government will continue to distribute similar forms of assistance until June depending on the State Budget.

“It is our shared hope that the State Budget can sustain [the program] so it can be continued,” he said.

Afterward, President Jokowi is slated to inspect and inaugurate infrastructure, hand out Certificates of Title to Land, and attend Islamic students’ ceremony. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (DH/LW)
