President Jokowi Kicks off East Kalimantan Working Visit

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Wednesday (02/22) around 12.48 p.m. Central Indonesian Time (WITA) arrived at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan city, East Kalimantan province.

Upon arrival, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces Adm. Yudo Margono, Indonesian National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Governor of East Kalimantan province Isran Noor welcomed the President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo at the airport.

President Jokowi and the entourage headed to Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center to attend the inauguration of the Muhammadiyah Youth Conference XVIII.

Afterwards, the President inspected the Nusantara Capital (IKN)’s segment 3B of the toll road project of KKT Kariangau – Sp. Tempadung section in Balikpapan city.

After the inspection, the President visited Hutan Bambu (bamboo forest) tourism area in Balikpapan city where the President handed over the Social Forestry Decree and the Land Objects of Agrarian Reform Decree to the recipients.

President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana are scheduled to stay overnight in Balikpapan city and are slated to pay a working visit in the next day

Previously, the President and the First Lady Iriana took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, at around 9.30 a.m. Indonesian Western Time on board Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1 to East Kalimantan province.
