President Jokowi: KPK Works Based on Facts, Evidence

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo emphasized that the legal process conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) was based on facts and evidence.

He made the statement after attending the 50th anniversary of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Tuesday (1/10).

“I believe the KPK works based on facts and evidence,” he said responding to the arrest of Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe for alleged corruption.

In addition, the President reiterated that all citizens are equal before the law and must respect all applicable legal processes.

“Everyone is equal before the law. That’s the law enforcement process that we must respect,” said the President. (BPMI/AIT) (EST/MMB)
