President Jokowi Lauds PT Pindad’s Rapid Development

State-owned defense equipment manufacturing company PT Pindad (Persero) has made rapid development in the national defense industry, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.
“I noticed that the development of PT Pindad is extremely fast,” he said after visiting PT Pindad (Persero) in West Java provincial capital Bandung on Tuesday (09/19).
According to the President, PT Pindad has carried out great development in the manufacturing of not only bullets and ammunitions but also combat vehicles.
The President also expressed optimism that Indonesia’s defense industry will be among the top 50 in the world in 2025 while pointing out that PT Pindad was in the 79th rank last year.
“Our estimation is that in 2024, it will be in the top 60, but in 2025, it will enter the top 50. Thus, the progress is evident and if we look at the products, they are excellent,” he said.
The President further stated that PT Pindad also managed to raise revenue from Rp25 trillion in 2022 to Rp27 trillion in 2023, adding that the increase came from combat vehicle and ammunition orders from home and several other countries.
