President Jokowi Launches Indonesia Arena Sports Building

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (08/07) inaugurated Indonesia Arena sports building at Gelora Bung Karno compound.

The arena will become one of the venues for 2023 Basketball World Cup FIBA to be held at the end of August until September.

“We now already have an arena with a capacity of around 16,000 people,” the President said.

He praised the construction that took only eighteen months with the budget of Rp640 billion.

This Indonesia Arena, he continued, can be used for basketball, badminton, volleyball, and other purposes such as concert.

“I believe this arena will be used mostly for concert. Thus, for those who are planning to hold a concert here please submit the proposal,” he remarked. (TGH/UN) (EST/MUR)
