President Jokowi: Leaders Emerge Because of Forged the Big Challenges

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) conveyed that our history recorded, we have many great leaders of the nation. Namely, Bung Karno, Bung Hatta, Kiai Haji Ahmad Dahlan, KH Hasyim Ashari, Ki Hajar Dewantara, and others.

“I believe that all leaders emerge and become great because of forged by the challenges, obstacles, and the a huge wave, but they are able to pass through it, they are able to resolve any obstacles encountered,” President Jokowi said, when he led the inauguration ceremony of the opening of the Students Leadership Crater 2015, on the front yard of the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (18/11) morning.

However, President reminded that every era gave rise the new challenges and different. What the leaders face in the past may be different from the conditions that we face in the future.

“Competition becomes more complex, there are always the challenges of the nation,” President Jokowi said, while expecting that students can prepare for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).

President Jokowi hope that the youth are able study for exams and problems they face, and resolve the challenges and obstacles in their future with perseverance, hard work, courage, optimism in order to be able to become a great leader like the example above.

President Jokowi also reminded, to be a leader needs character and good manners, ready to serve and be backrest for the people, and would dedicate their life to the advancement of the nation.

The President wished the participants of the program of Student Leadership Crater in 2015, are able to become leaders in their respective regions, and set an example for colleagues in their environment.

Program of Student Leadership Crater 2015 attended by 1,176 participants from all over Indonesia, who are students selected from each region.

The participants consisted of 514 junior high school student council board, and 306 high school student council board. In addition, the there are 50 participants of Papua and West Papua students of Affirmations Secondary Education (ADEM) program in 6 provinces.

Attending the opening of the program, among others, Minister of Education Anies Baswedan and Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi. (FIT/RAH/ES)/Sy.
