President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo led the Ceremony of Pancasila Day at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, on 08:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time), Thursday (06/01).

The ceremony was attended by Indonesian state officials, Cabinet Ministers, the Fifth Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri, the Ninth and Eleventh Indonesian Vice Presidents Hamzah Haz and Boediono, and other invitees.

On the occasion, the President wore traditional costume of Deli Sultanate while Vice President Ma’ruf Amin wore Melayu outfits.

During the ceremony, the Chairperson of the People’s Consultative Assembly read out the text of Pancasila, while the Chairperson of the House of Representatives read out the text of the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution. After the President delivered his remarks, the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court read a prayer.

The theme of the 2023 Pancasila Day was “Mutual Cooperation Builds Global Civilization and Growth” with a tagline of “Actualization of Pancasila, Indonesia’s Growth Energy”.

Ceremony at the Presidential Institution

The ceremony of Pancasila Day was also held by the Presidential Institution at the grounds of the Ministry of State Secretariat, and led by Deputy of Government and National Insight Policy Support of the Secretariat of Vice President, Velix Vernando Wanggai. Officials and staff of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Cabinet Secretariat, Secretariat of Presidential Advisory Council, and Secretariat of Executive Office of the President joined the ceremony.
