President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, led a Limited Meeting on the Anticipation of the increased seismic activity of Mt. Agung in Karangasem Regency, Bali, and reports on the latest development of Mt. Sinabung, in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Thursday (28/9) afternoon.

For the record, since 22 September, Mt. Agung has been on the alert status, and it is suggested that people should not do any activity within a radius of 9 kilometers. Until Wednesday (27/9) afternoon, as many as 96,086 residents living near Mt. Agung seek refuge in 430 refugee points in 9 regencies/municipalities.

Meanwhile, Mt. Sinabung, which is still on the alert status, continues to spew volcanic ash. The residents were asked not to engage in any activities within a radius of three kilometers from the peak of Mt. Sinabung, and sectorally from the peaks within seven kilometers to the south-southeast, six kilometers to the southeast-east, and four kilometers to the north-east.

Moloek, Minister of Transportation Budi K. Sumadi, and Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nubaya, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of National Land Agency Sofyan Jalil, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignatius Jonan, Commander of the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo, Bali Governor I Made Mangku Pastika, Vice Governor of North Sumatra Nur Hajizah, Head of National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) Willem Rampangiley, Karo Regent Terkelin Brahmana, Klungkung Regent I Nyoman Suwirta, and Karangasem Regent Iga Mas Sumatri.
