President Jokowi Leads Pancasila Sanctity Commemoration Day Ceremony
President Joko Jokowi Widodo on Saturday (1/10) at 8 am presided over a ceremony to commemorate the Pancasila Sanctity Day.
The ceremony was held at the Pancasila Sakti Monument in Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta.
President Jokowi arrived at the monument at 7.45 am, welcomed by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.
From there, President Jokowi headed to the main waiting room, where Vice President Jusuf Kalla was already waiting. Not long afterwards, President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla headed to the venue of the ceremony on foot.
President Jokowi then headed to the podium of the ceremony, while on the field, participants of the ceremony were already lining up orderly.
At the ceremony, the manuscript of Pancasila was read out loud by Speaker of the Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan, while the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution was read by Deputy Speaker of the DPD Farouk Muhammad.
In the meantime, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Ade Komarudin read and signed a Naskah Ikrar(Pledge Script) and Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin recited a prayer that concluded the ceremony.
Before leaving the venue, President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla had a gathering with the relatives of the Revolution Hero (Pahlawan Revolusi) and enjoyed performances of heroic songs by Aubade. (BPMI/UN) (EP/YM/Naster)
