President Jokowi Leads TNI’s 78th Anniversary Ceremony

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Thursday (10/05) led the 78th Anniversary Ceremony of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) at the National Monument square, Jakarta.

“On behalf of the people, the nation, and the state, I congratulate the TNI on its 78th Anniversary, wherever your posts are,” President Jokowi said.

The President also expressed gratitude to the TNI personnel for their services to the country.

“I would like to extend my gratitude and highest appreciation to TNI family for your bravery, professionalism, and devotion, who protect the entire nation and its people, who act as a guard for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Pancasila, and the 1945 Constitution,” the President remarked.

During the ceremony, President Jokowi also conferred the Order of Merit to three TNI personnel based on Presidential Decree Numbers 1, 53, and 75/TK of 2023 on the Awarding of Yudha Dharma Pratama Star for their great services in advancing and developing the TNI. The three personnel were:

  1. Commander of the Regional Military Command XIII/Merdeka, Mayor Gen. Legowo W. R. Jatmiko
  2. Maritime Potential Assistant to the Navy Chief of Staff, Mayor Gen. (Marine) Markos
  3. Commander of Air Operations Command II Air, Vice Marshall Andi Kustoro
