President Jokowi Meets Artists and Cultural Experts

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, and Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, received representatives of artists and cultural experts, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday (11/12).

In that meeting, President Jokowi expected to hear opinions, discuss, and receive inputs from the artists and cultural experts on cultural strategy for the advancement of culture in the next 20 years. The President admitted that he will hear more inputs from them.

“Therefore, in this afternoon’s meeting I let you speak more, while I just listen,” President Jokowi said.

Among the artists and cultural experts attending the meeting, there were Gunawan Muhammad, Jaya Suprana, Nyoman Nuarta, Nungki Kusumastuti, and Edy Sedyawati. (FID/RAH/ES)
