President Jokowi Meets with Chairman of Muhammadiyah in Menteng
President Joko Jokowi Widodo accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Education and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, and Coordinator of Special Staff to the President Teten Masduki visited the office of Central Executive Board (PP) of Muhammadiyah, in Jalan Menteng Raya, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/8).
On that occasion, President Jokowi handed over his sacrificial animal, a limousine cattle, and also attended a closed meeting led by the Chairman of Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir.
President Jokowi said that many things discussed at the meeting, especially those related to a just economy and health access, especially the implementation of BPJS Kesehatan (Social Security Provider Body for Health).
Furthermore, the President continued, the meeting also discussed Sharia Banks, asset redistribution issue, women and children health, which also become main concerns of the Muhammadiyah.
I think all suggestions given by the Muhammadiyah are very good. Some can be applied immediately, some need to be planned first and if its possible, we will create the budget in the following year, President Jokowi said.
After a one-hour closed meeting, President Jokowi handed over the cattle to PP Muhammadiyah and received personally by Haedar Nashir.
I hereby hand over a sacrificial animal, a cattle, to PP Muhammadiyah to be slaughtered and distributed according to the Shari’a, the President said. (DND/JAY/ES) (GWH/MMB/Naster)
