President Jokowi receives the delegates of China at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta (13/4)

Head of the International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Song Tao on Wednesday (13/4) afternoon, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, met President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo. On the occasion, Song Tao conveyed a greeting from the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping for the friendship that has been established. Moreover, Song Tao particularly invited President Jokowi to attend the G-20 Summit to be held in Hangzhou, China.

Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, who accompanied President Jokowi in the meeting, said that the Governments of Indonesia and China have agreed to carry on the cooperation which has been established as well as the cooperation on other sectors, such as natural resources, energy, and other infrastructure sectors.

Issue of Natuna

Meanwhile, asked about Natuna issue, Pramono said that the matter happened in Natuna waters with China Maritime Security has been cleared up. “It has been cleared up, we considered it as a misunderstanding. We respect each other borderlines and traditions. There is no claim,” Pramono explained.
