President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo received a visit of the 6th President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (9/3). The President then invited SBY to have lunch, continued with a veranda talk and had tea together.

“As I have oftenly mentioned, I will arrange time to meet Pak SBY. Today, alhamdullilah, both of us have time to meet,” the President said starting his joint press statement with SBY.The President firmly said that this meeting has been scheduled. However, sometimes their schedule does not match.

Regarding the points of their talk, the President said that they discussed a lot of things, such as national politics and economy.

As explained by SBY, President Jokowi agreed that there should be a political tradition amongst the presidents.

Moreover, the development carried out during the service of a previous president must be continued by the next president. If this action is conducted, it will be easy for this country to achieve the target for the sake of the people as well as the country.

“I think it is good to continue good traditions from previous presidents to the next one. Second, the development must be continued so we don’t have to start everything from the beginning,” the President said. (UN/GUN/ES) (MMB/YM/Naster)
