President Jokowi Meets Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation Ahead of IFSC Climbing World Cup

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Wednesday (09/21), welcomed the management of the Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) at the State Palace, Jakarta.

During the meeting, FPTI Chairperson Yenny Wahid unveiled the plans for the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) Climbing World Cup which will be held on September 24-26, 2022 in Jakarta.

“Today, the Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation met with the President to discuss plans for the IFSC Climbing World Cup, which will take place this weekend in Jakarta. And, this is a historic event because this is the very first time Indonesia is chosen as the host of the Climbing World Cup,” Yenny stated.

Furthermore, Yenny said that President Jokowi has always paid special attention to sport climbing. The President also expressed hope that Indonesian sport-climbing athletes can win gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In addition, Yenny also voiced hope for community support so that Indonesian sport-climbing athletes can continue to make the nation and country proud of their achievements.

“Our sport-climbing athletes compete mainly in the speed category. They are highly reckoned around the world. And, they have the opportunity to make the nation and country proud, so we must support them as much as we can,” Yenny remarked.
