President Jokowi Meets Top-Performing Students at Bogor Palace

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (3/5) at Bogor Presidential Palace received 272 top-performing Senior High School students representing Student Organization (OSIS) across the nation.
The Students are participants of Student Leadership Program (Kawah Kepemimpinan Pelajar) organized by Ministry of Education and Culture. On that occasion, the President and the students toured the Palace, engaged in a dialogue, and made Vlog.
President Jokowi said in his remarks that the students attending the event are excellent students, selected from the chairman of OSIS across the nation.
For the record, Kawah Kepemimpinan Pelajar is an annual event organized by Ministry of Education and Culture to build leadership and social skills of Indonesian students. During the one-week program, the students will engage in several activities, including focus group discussion, traditional art performance, group presentation, sports and games. The participants of the program are the Senior High School students selected from all Provinces of Indonesia.
The President shared his concept of leadership to the students. Leadership, according to the President, is the ability to influence others, unite people, have a good self-control, be a role model for people and serve public interest.
The President added that being a leader should be encouraging, inspiring and nurturing others and encouraged the students to achieve their dreams to become Regent, Mayor, Governor or Government Minister.
“You can be Entrepreneurs, Doctors, or Presidents in the future” President Jokowi said, adding that there must be many obstacles to achieve the dreams.
