President Jokowi Meets with COVID-19 Vaccination Participants in Lampung Province

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo interacted with people who received their COVID-19 shot during public COVID-19 vaccination held simultaneously in a number of locations in Lampung Province, Thursday (2/9) though video conference.

A representative of COVID-19 vaccinator from Satelit community health centers (puskesmas), Bandar Lampung, told the President that vaccination coverage in the region has reached 62 percent. Meanwhile, as of 2 September 2021, 13.30 percent of the people living in the province have received their first dose of COVID-10 vaccine and 8.05 percent received their second dose.

President Jokowi on that occasion affirmed that the Government will increase COVID-19 vaccine supply in order to speed up vaccination drive in the province.

“I will order Minister of Health to increase vaccine supply for Lampung Province,” he said.

In the meantime, a representative of COVID-19 vaccinator from Lampung Woman Correctional Institution, Yuyun, expressed her gratitude to the President for paying close attention to provide COVID-19 vaccine to the inmates.

“For the public, don’t worry to get your shot. It is all for your own health. I hope Indonesia, under the administration of President Jokowi, can be more advanced,” she said.

On the occasion, the Head of State also reminded the public to participate in national vaccination drive and remain disciplined in adhering to health protocols.

“Although you have received your shot, you must keep your mask on, maintain safe distance, and avoid crowd. Do not forget to frequently wash your hands,” he said. (PRESIDENTIAL SECRETARIAT /UN) (RAS/MUR)
