President Jokowi Meets With Rabithah Al-Alam Al-Islamy Secretary-General
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo received an honorary visit from the Delegation of Rabithah Al-Alam Al-Islamy, led by Secretary-General Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Wednesday (26/2), at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
The Secretary-General stated that Indonesia is seen as a moderate country that sets an example for other Islamic countries.
In addition, while representing other Islamic countries, he appreciated various steps and initiatives taken by Indonesia to promote moderate Islam that is open to modernism and is progress-oriented.
Furthermore, the Secretary-General added, Indonesia has successfully maintained tolerance and unity amid its diversity. For this reason, he expressed an urge to imitate Indonesia.
“The Indonesian Government is requested to share and convey noble values that have been instilled, to its various partners, friendly countries, both from Muslim and non-Muslim world. (TGH/EN)
