President Jokowi Meets with Residents of Baubau city
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Tuesday (09/27) had a dialogue with locals during his working visit in Baubau city, Southeast Sulawesi province.
While distributing Wage Subsidy (BSU) at Baubau Post Office, one of participants, Rahmat Irwanto, asked President Jokowi a question on how to use his bachelor diploma as bank collateral to get capital from state-owned banks for his business.
On that occasion the President answered the question that there are two options to get it.
First, people can get the capital through People’s Business Credit (KUR) with a maximum loan of Rp500 million.
Second, people who have business platforms can get the capital without collateral through state-owned enterprises’ venture capital by participating in a pitch.
However, President Jokowi reminded that before participating in the pitch, the participants must be well prepared considering a lot of people are competing to gain the capital through this scheme.
Businesses with high quality products, good performance, and promising prospects will be chosen, according to the President.
“Usually there are only ten out of thousands of qualified businesses chosen to gain the capital,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (AP/MMB)
