On the sidelines of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Saturday (11/12) held a talk with Executive Chairperson of World Economic Forum (WEF) Professor Klaus Schwab at Sokkha Hotel, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
During the meeting, President Jokowi discussed the current global economic condition in the midst of a difficult situation, coupled with the prediction of global economic recession next year.
“Various crises, including the war in Ukraine, have caused a slowdown in global economic growth. Nevertheless, amid of uncertain situation, alhamdulillah, the Indonesian economy is projected to continue to grow this year and next year,” he said.
The Head of State also expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairperson for proposing his name as a candidate of the Global Citizen Award.
In addition, President Jokowi expressed appreciation to Professor Schwab for confirming his attendance at the G20 Summit in Bali. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/EP)
