President Jokowi Meets with Winners of Gate Festival Competition

President Joko “Jokowi“ Widodo, on Monday (2/9), at the State Palace met with the winners of the Cinta Negeri Gate Festival, namely ten winners of the general category, three winners of the institution/agency/company/organization category, and one participant who won the special category.

President Jokowi congratulated the winners of the Festival, and expressed hoped that they will meet again next year, during the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence.

On that occasion, the representatives of the winners from West Bandung Regency, West Java and from Lasem, Rembang Regency, Central Java explained the process of making the gate.

In the meantime, Secretary General of Ministry of Home Affairs Hadi Prabowo, who is also the Chairperson of the Festival, has reported that the festival has been held in two months, with 1,793 gates registered through gapuracintanegeri.com.

“Through the process of curation and judging, we have selected ten winners of the general category, three winners of the institution/agency/company/organization category, and special category,” Hadi said.

The ten winners of the general categories are: 1. Sriyanta from Boyolali Regency; 2. Eko Siswanto from Semarang Municipality; 3. Moh. Nurrohman from Rembang Regency; 4. Roni Sintiu from Batu Regency; 5. Otniel Kayani from Yapen Islands Regency; 6. Dede Rahmat from West Bandung Regency (the first winner in the general category); 7. Arif Rahman from Banjarmasin Municipality; 8. Ramsyah from Kutai Kartanegara Regency; 9. Mahgodie Idris from Palembang Municipality; and 10. Riyadi from Magelang Regency.

The three winners in the category of institutions/agencies/companies/organizations are: 1. PT Varash Saddan Nusantara from Denpasar Municipality; 2. Barana Christian High School from North Toraja Regency; and 3. the Bung Karno Complex Management Center from Special Capital Region of (DKI) Jakarta.

Besides considering the spirit of community participation, the committee gave special award to participants from Nduga, Papua Province, and also announced PT Varash Saddan Nusantara from Denpasar, Bali as the winner of netizens’ favorite category.

“All winners of the Festival receive prizes in the form of money, certificates and trophies,” Hadi concluded.
