President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Friday (30/11) had a meeting with one of the community leaders, who is also a constitutional law expert, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, at the Bogor Palace, West Java.

President Jokowi said he had known Yusril when he was serving as Mayor of Solo City and since then their relationship remains well.

Regarding the meeting, the President said that both parties talked about state issues, particularly state administration.

Yusril acknowledged that although he criticized the President, it did not mean he was against the Government.

“President Jokowi certainly understands that critics are welcomed as long as it is constructive with good intentions. If it is appropriate, it will be implemented,” Yusril said.

Yusril added that he also often gives advice to the Government especially those related to the legal field.

“Hopefully it will bring benefits to our nation and the people,” he said.

Accompanying the President during the event were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno (BPMI / EN)
