President Jokowi, Namibian President Plant Trees at Bogor Palace

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday (30/8) received a state visit from President of Namibia Hage Gottfried Geingob at the Bogor Presidential Palace.

President Geingob arrived at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time escorted by the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) and was greeted by children wearing traditional clothes from various regions in Indonesia. The event then continued with a welcoming ceremony, a troop inspection, and the singing of national anthem of the two countries followed with a-21-gun salute.

On the occasion, President Jokowi also invited President Geingob into the Lotus Room of the Palace for a joint photo session and to sign guest book. The President also invited President Geingob to plant ironwood in the backyard of the Palace, followed by a veranda talk.

After the veranda talk, President Jokowi and President Geingob led their respective state delegations to hold a joint bilateral meeting.

Also present during the event were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono. (GUN/ES) (RI/EP/Naster)
