President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo emphasized that the neutrality of members of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), Indonesian National Police (Polri), and State Intelligence Agency (BIN) is absolute in both national and regional elections.

“I have asserted this matter to the Head of BIN, the Chief of Polri and the Commander of TNI,” said President Jokowi after inspecting Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (25/6).

The President confirmed this in respond to doubts raised by some parties on the neutrality of the TNI, Polri, and BIN in simultaneous elections to be held next Wednesday (27/6).

According to the President, neutrality of the three institutions is unquestionable.

For that reason, President Jokowi invited public to jointly monitor this matter. “If there are any findings (shown unneutral act), please report them to Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu),” President Jokowi concluded. (MAY / OJI / ES) (STU/MMB/Naster)
