President Jokowi Not Invited to Kediri: Cabinet Secretary

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo was not invited to attend the Grand Reunion of Lirboyo Islamic Boarding so School in Kediri so the President did not come Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung has said.

“President Jokowi did not come since he was not invited,” Pramono said in Jakarta, Monday (17/2).

The statement was made by Pramono to respond to the myth that officials who visit Kediri will seal bad fates. “However, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin was invited to the event,” he added.

Pramono added that head of Lirboyo Islamic Board School Kiai Haji Abdullah Kafabihi Mahrus said that in Kediri, there is a myth stating that if a president, a vice president or other high-ranking officials come to Kediri, they will experience a bad luck.

“But he also said that now there is “antidote”, namely that those high-ranking officials have to visit Mbah Wasil first,” Pramoni said.

Pramono admitted he was confused by the news stating that President Jokowi is afraid to go to Kediri, even though so far the President has never been afraid to go anywhere

“I see the news has gone far from the initial substance,” Pramono said, adding that if there was an invitation to visit Kediri, the President will definitely come. (FID/EN)
