President Jokowi: Nusantara Capital Obtains Rp56.2 Trillion in Investment

In the first plenary cabinet meeting held at the Garuda Palace, Nusantara Capital, East Kalimantan province, Monday (08/12), President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo stated that the development of Nusantara Capital has, to date, booked Rp56.2 trillion in investment.

“Such amount doesn’t include the State Budget,” President Jokowi said in his introductory remarks.

The President reiterated that the ground for the relocation of the country’s capital is to change the mindset, work patterns, and mobility.

“Since mobility in Nusantara Capital will use EVs that use green energy. The whole building construction here will be focused on green buildings. Accessibility is prioritized for pedestrians and cyclists,” the President said.

In addition to all-green mobility, the Head of State continued, Nusantara Capital will also develop a green-based economy.

“The green, digital economy will accompany the Government in Nusantara Capital,” he remarked.

For the record, 55 investors have made groundbreaking investments in new capital, namely six investors in the education sector, three investors in the health sector, and ten investors in the retail and logistics sector.

In addition, eight investors in the hotel sector, fourteen investors in the office and banking sector, nine investors in the residential and green area sector, and three investors in the media and technology sector. (FID/DNS) (GWH/MUR)
