President Jokowi Offers Condolences over Passing of SBY’s Mother

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Saturday (31/8) visited the former President of the Republic Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) to mourn the passing of SBY’s mother, Siti Habibah, who died at the age of 86 on Friday (30/8) at Mitra Keluarga Cibubur Hospital.

Arriving at the SBY’s house at around 11:35 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, President Jokowi was welcomed by SBY and his son Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). The President and SBY were seen shaking hands and hugging each other in that moment.

The President was then invited to the pavilion. After expressing his condolences and engaging in a short conversation with SBY, the President prayed for the deceased and left the location.

Previously, Vice President Jusuf Kalla and his wife had also come to mourn SBY’s mother. (BPMI/EN)
