President Jokowi Officially Opens Indonesian Pavilion at Hannover Messe
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (04/17) officially opened the Indonesian Pavilion at the 2023 Hannover Messe, Germany.
The Pavillion that was designed to take the shape of traditional Pinisi boat reflects “Indonesia’s spirit to sail to the future in addressing future challenges”.
According to the President, the Pinisi has two masts and seven small sails. The masts display two foundations of Indonesia’s transformation, namely industrial down streaming and acceleration of clean energy transition.
Meanwhile, seven sails showcase seven priority sectors in the exhibition such as food, textiles, automotive, electronics, chemicals, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals.
“The Pinisi has a compass called “Making Indonesia 4.0”, a road map that navigates industrial transformation in Indonesia,” he said.
The President expressed belief that acceleration of Indonesia’s clean energy transition will lead to the revival of regional economy and global economy.
He also invited participants to visit the Indonesian Pavilion and consider Indonesia as a land of opportunities and a future manufacturing hub.
“With a spirit of an infinite journey, let’s join hands and push for industrial transformation for a better world. Investing in Indonesia paves the way for a brighter future,” he remarked.
For the third time, Indonesia is selected as an official partner country at Hannover Messe 2023, which is the world’s largest exhibition for industrial technology. The exhibition will be held from April 17–21, 2023. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RAS/EP)
