The President expressed hope that the 4.2-kilometer road, costing around 104 billion sourced from the National Economic Recovery (PEN) fund, can stimulate the economy in Tabalong regency.
“I believe this road will trigger new economic growth points in Tabalong regency,” the President said in his statement.
Based on a report from the Tabalong Regent, the President added that there has been an increase in economic growth in the Regency over the past two years. Economic growth in 2021 reached 3.27 percent and rose to 5.30 percent in 2022.
“It indeed provided an economic boost to Tabalong regency,” the President said.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Head of the Tabalong Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency Wibawa Agung Subrata expressed hope that the road, which was completed with 12 bridges and constructed for one year, would provide better accessibility and reduce travel time for the public.
“This road is indeed expected to be utilized by the community at large. It can accommodate the health sector, as well as plantations. It can also facilitate access to education for students,” Wibawa said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (FI/MUR)
