During the commemoration of Pancasila Day on 1 June this year, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo called on all Indonesian people to remain united and to care about and share with others for the advancement of the nation.

According to the President, Indonesia is facing difficult challenges this year or even next year.

“This is a situation that requires struggle and hard work so we can get through this tough time. We are not alone. There are 215 other countries around the globe which are currently facing similar situation like we are. We are all struggling,” President Jokowi said during the commemoration of Pancasila Day in the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java province, Monday (1/6).

All those countries, he continued, are competing to be the winner in controlling the virus as well as in achieving recovery from the economic crisis.

“As a great nation, Indonesia must also emerge as the winner. We must be optimistic. We must be able to create opportunities in the midst of difficulties. We must resolve all of difficulties with innovation and real work,” President Jokowi said, adding that everyone should continue to be creative, innovative, and make accomplishment amidst this dire situation.

“Let us prove our resilience. Let us grab the future. And let us realize the noble ideals of our founding fathers,” he continued.

The President also called on all Indonesians to show the world that Indonesia is a strong nation which is not only able to face challenges but is also able to turn difficulties into a leap of progress. (HIM/EN)
