President Jokowi Optimistic RI’s 79th Independence Day Ceremony to be Held at IKN
President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inspected the field that will be used for holding the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony on next August 17, at the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area, North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province, Wednesday (06/05). The President said that the field would be completed around mid-July.
“Preparations for the Independence Day ceremony are almost final. There are no problems on the field. We have just checked everything one by one, from the venue to the arrangements for the ceremony. Everything is well prepared. The construction here will be completed around mid-July and the preparations for the ceremony on August 17 will soon begin,” he said.
President Jokowi expressed optimism that the Presidential Office will be completed in July, while the construction of the water pump to channel water from the Sepaku Semoi Dam is still ongoing.
“I’m very optimistic about the office, and we are still waiting for one thing, namely water. Yesterday, we inaugurated the Sepaku Semoi Dam, we just have to wait for the completion of the pump which will lift water and then channel it to buildings and houses at the Nusantara Capital,” he concluded.
Also present to accompany the President during the inspection were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing who is also serving as Acting Head of the IKN Authority Basuki Hadimuljono, as well as Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency who is also serving as Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority Raja Juli Antoni, IKN Curator Ridwan Kamil, and Wishnutama Kusubandio.
