President Jokowi Orders Downstream Industry Integration

Amid the development of downstream industries that are spread across the country, it is the Government’s task to ensure integration between industries, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“It is the Government’s task to ensure such integration takes place,” President Jokowi said after inspecting the construction of the smelter of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) in West Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara province, Tuesday (06/20).

In addition, the President stated that the integration of smelters and industries across the country will provide Indonesia an opportunity to make a leap into a developed country.

President Jokowi also ordered that derivative smelters products be integrated so that it can become finished goods with big ecosystems, one of which is the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem.

“As I often say; lithium battery, EV battery, what is the final product? Electric car. If we can realize it, our big ecosystem will be completed, one of which can elevate us from a developing country to a developed country,” he remarked. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (GWH/MUR)
