President Jokowi Orders Ministries to Concentrate on 2020 Budget Realization, Start Spending 2021 Budget in January

President Jokowi ordered his administration to concentrate on the 2020 budget realization with the year nearing its end.

“In relation to the 2020 budget realization, it is only about three weeks left. So, I instruct everyone to concentrate on the budget realization,” President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said during the Plenary Cabinet Session, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (1/12).

On the 2021 budget, the President instructed ministries/agencies, especially those with large budgets, to spend it immediately at the beginning of the year or in January.

“I remind you once again, all expenditures can be realized in early January, at the beginning of the year, so the auction should start now, because the Budget Implementation Entry List (DIPA) has already been distributed, the auction process  could be carried out immediately,” he said.
