President Jokowi Orders New Deputy Agriculture Minister to Achieve National Food Security

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has ordered newly-inaugurated Deputy Minister of Agriculture Harvick Hasnul Qolbi to achieve national food security.

“The President has underlined several crucial things, especially national food security,” Deputy Minister of Agriculture Harvick Hasnul Qolbi said after the inauguration, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (23/12).

Food security, he said, has become a serious matter amid the ongoing pandemic that caused the disruption of agricultural products movement. “Therefore, the President hopes I can synergize with Minister of Agriculture in carrying out food estate program or other programs in the agriculture sector,” he said.

On that occasion, Harvick said that he would take immediate action together with the Minister to address agricultural issues that occurred amid the pandemic in the country.

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 17, 1974, Harvick Hasnul Qolbi was an alumni of Jakarta Teladan 3 High School in 1992 and studied Industrial Engineering at the YAI Persada Indonesia University. Harvick is also a cadre and a member of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board. His last position in the organization was as treasurer. Before being appointed as NU treasurer, he had served at the Nahdlatul Ulama Economic Institute (LPNU). (FID/UN) (RIF/EP)
