President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo on Monday (19/12) paid his last respect to the Indonesian Navy Deputy Chief of Staff (Wakasal) of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Vice Admiral Arie Henrycus Sembiring who passed away on Sunday.

President Jokowi arrived at Arie’s house in Cut Meutiah, Menteng, Central Jakarta and was welcomed by his family. After sending condolences, the President also prayed for the late Arie Henrycus Sembiring.

Accompanying the President during the visit were Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) General Gatot Nurmantyo, Navy Chief of Staff Ade Supandi, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Chief of the Jakarta Regional Police Inspector General M. Iriawan, and the Jakarta Military District Command Major General Teddy Lhaksmana.

Arie Henrycus Sembiring passed away at around 11 pm at Cipto Mangungkusumo Hospital, Jakarta, on Sunday evening (18/12).  He is survived by a wife Ms. RR Maria Dian Marliana and three children Claudia Mary Josephine Sembiring Meliala, Antonius Antares Theodore Sembiring Meliala, and Gregorius Cornell Theodore Sembiring Meliala.
