President Jokowi, PM Hun Sen Discuss Enhancing Indonesia-Cambodia Economic Cooperation

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (05/10) held a bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen at Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara province.

In this meeting, President Jokowi welcomed the Prime Minister and congratulated Cambodia on its Chairmanship of ASEAN last year.

“The President also expressed his appreciation for Cambodia’s support for Indonesia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN this year,” Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi said in a press statement after the bilateral meeting.

In addition, the two leaders also discussed enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries. President Jokowi underlined Indonesia’s commitment to continue enhancing economic cooperation with Cambodia.

“Including Indonesia’s determination to be involved in the development of Cambodia, especially in the development of infrastructure projects,” Retno said.

President Jokowi also expressed his gratitude for Cambodia’s assistance in rescuing Indonesian citizens who are victims of human trafficking and online scams.
