President Jokowi Praises Indonesian Teachers’ Dedication, Contribution

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Saturday (11/25) attended the 78th Anniversary of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) and the 2023 National Teacher’s Day at Britama Arena, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.

“On behalf of myself, on behalf of the Government, on behalf of the people, I’d like to express gratitude for your dedication and contribution in educating Indonesia’s youth, in educating all of us,” the President said.

President Jokowi then highlighted that teaching is not an easy job. In fact, he added, research from an international institution shows that the level of stress experienced by teachers is higher than other jobs because of student behavior, curriculum changes, and technological developments.

The President also expressed hope that teachers and teaching staff in the country can continue to innovate and adapt to the changes of times and technological development to shape outstanding human resources toward Advanced Indonesia
