President Jokowi Praises Newly-inaugurated Chairperson and Vice of IKN Authority

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Thursday (03/10), plauded the appointment of Bambang Susantono as the Chairperson of Authority of the New Capital of Nusantara (IKN) and Dhony Rahajoe as the Vice Chairperson. He said that the two newly-inaugurated Government officials are the best candidates who have excellent track records.

The President expressed belief both Chairperson and Vice of the IKN Authority will have great communication and cooperation with related ministers in the planning, construction, and investment of the IKN.

“The two officials can discuss with Pak Harso (Head of the National Development Planning Agency) for the planning, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing for the execution of the construction of center for government, and Coordinating Minister Luhut for the investment,” he said.

The Head of State went on to say that the development of new capital will attract investment from both domestic and foreign investors. Hence, he expected the Chairperson and Vice of the IKN Authority can make swift actions to complete institutional issue immediately.

For the record, Bambang Susantono was a civil engineering graduate from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). He also obtained his master’s degree in city and regional planning, as well as in transportation engineering, and PhD degree in infrastructure planning from University of California, Berkeley. He was a former Vice Minister of Transportation in 2009-2014 and former Vice President for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Meanwhile, Dhony Rahajoe was the Managing Director President Office of property developer Sinar Mas Land and member of the Bandung Technological Science Institute’s Foundation Governing Body. (Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RAS/HD)
