President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo instructed Minister of Industry and Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises to notify companies not to terminate employment during Covid-19 pandemic.

“(People working for) companies and government institutions are advised to work from home and also worship at home. Once again, this is to limit movement because social distancing is very crucial,” President Jokowi stated during a cabinet meeting via video conference, Monday (16/3).

The President also instructed his ministers to redirect budgets from existing programs to, as much as possible, help the people, including laborers, farmers, fishermen, workers, micro-businesses, and small businesses.

“These budgets on official travels, meetings, unnecessary meetings are to be withheld,” he stated. (UN/EN)
