In his press statement after visiting dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital in Banda Aceh, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expressed his appreciation for the hospital management owned by the Aceh Provincial administration which has provided quality healthcare for public.

According to the President, the hospital’s cleanliness and management have run well.

The President also highlighted the delivery of medical devices from Ministry of Health, including cath lab devices which have been procured by the hospital.

Meanwhile, the delivery of medical devices such as MRI and CT scan are expected to arrive at the end of this year or no later than next year.

The President further explained that the high number of patients served by the hospital – which has reached 2,000 patients – became an important indicator to improve service capacity. Therefore, he proposed the hospital management to provide additional patient beds to handle the surge in the number of patients.

“Health services here are remarkable. About 2,000 patients per day have been served. I think the hospital needs to have more beds,” the President proposed.

With good management and additional health facilities, the President expressed hope that the hospital can be more optimal in serving public needs. (KS/DNS) (GA/EP)
